Hi!
How do I insert a field in the formula box of the AutoCAD for MAC (2024)? There is no such options like the one in the AutoCAD version for Windows.
Thank you!

@vladimir_ivanov93 hard to tell out of context like that what the MacOS screenshot is referencing, the #### in the preview section would indicate nothing was selected... .

I am talking about the drop-down menu in the formula box. There is no “Insert field…” option.

looks like you may have discovered another missing feature in the Mac version

But this one is quite major. I was not able to create the desired attribute, at least I didn’t know how to, without inserting a new field in the formula. I ended using Windows just for this task and then return to Mac.

Well, looks like you have a decision to make.
If you need to continuously use this particular feature, then you may have no choice but to go back & forth or just stay with the Windows version.

Ok. Let's consider a situation like this (a very good example): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wc_W7q4OqA . How do I create this attribute without using "Insert field..." (the one from the formula box, not the one from attribute field). There must be a workaround. I am sure it can be done hard way, but I would like to know how.

Hi Vladimir!
Yes, this feature is not available in AutoCAD for Mac, but there is workaround:
you can prepare the Formula field contents outside AutoCAD and then use it in AutoCAD.
Please look at how-to video:
Have to say, that there is a bug in AutoCAD for Mac related to the Formula fields created with "insert form context menu" method (on PC) or created with workaround I show above - you cannot edit such Fields. In order to make changes to such Fields you need to recreate them from scratch.
