Help--array doesn't move to a new layer after setting it as such.

As shown on the screenshot here, the array has been set to the outline layer with a different line color but the appearance remains unchanged and still appears in its previous layer when all other layers are hidden. Tried write block for entire drawing but it didn't help. Please advise solutions.Screenshot 2024-02-01 at 11.52.08.png

Hi,

>"but the appearance remains unchanged"

You changed the array layer, not the layer of objects inside array.

Try this:

Create an object on Layer0, set color to byblock or bylayer, create an array.

Try it again.

To expand on that a little:  Elements in an Array "object" are like elements in a Block definition.  The Array, just like the Block, can be on one Layer, but the pieces in it can be on another Layer.  If the pieces are on Layer "0," then they will take on the properties of the Layer that the Array [or Block] is on.

That works. Could you clarify how to change the "layer of objects inside array"? I don't recall that I did anything differently. Thank you!

You are using arrays? Take a look in Producthelp.

Start array command, press [F1]

The right page opens and related topics are linked.

If it is NOT working: What kind of object is it?
