How to lock an AutoCAD file...

I work on a team of 3 people and we are constantly taking turns working on the same DWG file and have had issues of people saving on top of others. How can we make it so I cannot physically open a file that someone has open?

Hi @amyE2SAK ,

Can you provide more details about your problem?

Where the drawing you are trying to access is stored?

If it is on network drive (server) - what protocol is used for this server?

Do you all use AutoCAD for Mac?

Please provide also AutoCAD for Mac version (s) you use and macOS version(s) installed on your Macs.

Hi @amyE2SAK ,

Please look at this article:

File locking no longer controlled by AutoCAD

So looks like you need to control file locking on OneDrive side. You can ask the Microsoft Forums for help.

Hi @amyE2SAK

You can verify next link:

Same DWG file on Sharepoint can be opened multiple times with no read-only alert in AutoCAD
