From your screenshot I see that you are using HATCH command, but in the first post you wrote: "It tries to hatch the whole drawing at every opportunity even when I am not using hatch as a current command."

So the problem is different. Am I correct?

When you use HATCH command with "Pick points" option active, AutoCAD always tries to detect a closed boundary and fill it with hatch. This is the standard behavior. If AutoCAD starts to find closed boundary before you pick point inside such boundary, just if you hover mouse over it, you need to check HPQUICKPREVIEW system variable and turn it OFF if it is turned ON.
