Why does the new MacBook Pro open AutoCAD for Mac files on NAS very slow?
I've been working on a MAC for years with no problems saving AutoCAD files to a Synology NAS. Recently bought a new MAC, Model: MacBook Pro; Model Identifier: MacBook Pro 18,1; Chip: Apple M1 Pro; Memory: 32G.
At first, everything was running slow, opening a small PDF took 5-8 minutes. We resolved this after changing back to SMB from afp, the new default MAC protocol.
For some reason this one MAC out of three continues having issues opening AutoCAD files. They take 5+ minutes to open and impossible to work.

Hi @ambit8W8T5 ,
What AutoCAD version do you have on your Mac?
Do you have the same problem with other applications? Or just with AutoCAD?
Are you absolutely sure that network connection uses SMB protocol on your Mac?
Do the documents that you open in AutoCAD have external references attached? If yes - have you tried to open simple drawings without Xrefs?
I also have Synology NAS - basic DS_120 model - and don't have problems with opening drawings without Xrefs in AutoCAD.
