Issues with Hatch Pattern display and Metal graphics engine, AutoCAD for MAC LT 2023
When my graphics engine is set to Metal, I am having issues with hatch patterns looking scrambled. When I switch the graphics engine back to Open GL the hatch patterns display normally. The pattern show here are custom, but it occurs with some of the out-of-the-box patterns as well. The version is latest AutoCAD LT 2023.1.1 for Mac.
I would just leave it on Open GL, but the Metal engine is much faster performance-wise. I also know the graphics engine is new for 2023, so if this is a bug would like to report for development purposes.
Any ideas to check for a resolution for this issue, or should I just report the bug?

Hi @seedstudiolandscapedesign ,
What Mac model do you have?
If it has Radeon graphics card, perhaps this is the reason.

Hi @seedstudiolandscapedesign ,
Can you share the drawing you showed on the screenshot?
Although I did not notice such problems with hatches on Mac with M1 chip, I can test it on M1 Mac on Monday.

Hi Maxim,
Sure, see attached file. I removed my custom hatches from the grid, since they wouldn't display properly anyway. I think the ones left are the standard AutoCAD options.

Hi Steve,
Sorry for delay.
I can confirm that the problem exists on Mac with M1 chip with Metal Graphics Engine enabled.
I can see it on certain zoom levels:
If I zoom in or out - the artifacts disappear:

Thank you for the confirmation. Is the best course of action to file a bug report? Or is there something I could try as a workaround?

Only change graphics engine back to Open GL

Hi seedstudiolands
You can set sysvar GPUHATCH=0 to disable this feature on metal. And we will fix this issue on next version. Thanks.
