I put the Mac to sleep at night and in the morning it runs much faster than at the end of the day.  Another issue is when I zoom in to select an object to copy and then zoom out so I can past it somewhere else the zoom will only partly zoom out and not enough to work so I have to paste it and then move the object where I want it.
