Thank you for the reply! I wasn't aware there was another log file in /var/log so I checked it out and found this:

Meaning that the service wasn't actually running. I reinstalled the service again, started it with

launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.autodesk.AdskLicensingService.plist

 instead of using sudo and this time the installation went through. Thank you!
