Does the 2022.2.1 update provide native support on M1?

Hello all,

Wondering if the recently released 2022.2.1 AutoCAD for Mac update provides native support for Apple Silicon (M1) or if it still requires Rosetta 2?

It still runs under Rosetta 2 mode.

Thanks Maxim

I'll wait before I upgrade my hardware in that case. It is a shame Autodesk haven't released a roadmap for native support, as I don't classify native support as a new 'feature'. I'm assuming they're working on it, but it would be great if they could at least provide an estimated date (early 2022, mid 2022, late 2022 or sometime 2023....).

Anyone at Autodesk able to expand on this?

David,

Autodesk never discloses its plans, and I'm not sure if anyone at Autodesk will answer your question here.

@David_Stacey Why not join their Beta/Feedback groups and find out in advance and help shape the future of the program then https://feedback.autodesk.com/welcome/

Thanks Pendean. I don't believe the betas have roadmapped native support yet either. Really don't understand the secrecy of whether Autodesk are adding native platform support (or not). The M1 has been out for over a year and I don't think it's unreasonable for customers to ask Autodesk to announce 'we'll be adding native support in x months/years'. Anyway, I'll stick with my Intel Mac for the time being.

I'm sorry but I can't read Japanese kanji. I presume you are telling me you can use it under Rosetta 2, which I already know. The answer for this topic is NO - AutoCAD for Mac is not a native app on Apple M1 Silicon and Autodesk has not yet released any public roadmap to enable native support (shame).
