FlEXnet folder location change with OSX Mojave?
I need to get Autocad LT working again after replacing the internal SSD in my Mac. I don't see the FLEXnet publisher folder in /Library/Preferences, only in /Library/Application Support. That location does not appear to have any adskflex... files. Did the location change with the system update to 10.14.6?

Autocad LT 2013 v 19.0.55.305
I know this version is listed as not supported for OSX 10.14, but it has been running fine on my 2013 MacPro until I had to change the internal SSD and restore from Time Machine.

Hi @rscarroll ,

No.
For what purpose do you need to find the FlEXnet folder(s)?

Hi,
I had to upgrade the internal SSD on the host machine. All files where backed up and then restored from a Time machine backup following the installation of the new drive.
After restore, Autocad shows the following error
‘Folders on your computer the AutoCAD needs access to are not available. AutoCAD cannot run until folder permission issues are resolved”
I have had to migrate AutoCAD to a new computer once before and the uninstall/reinstall solution worked. This time, I don’t see the FLEXnet folder & files in /Library/Preferences. There is a folder with that name in /Library/Application Support but it does not contain any asdkflex… files.

Not sure if you will be able to reinstall 2013 version on Mojave.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
My question is about step #2 in the linked instructions:
> Navigate to the folder /Library/Preferences/Flexnet Publisher/FLEXnet and delete the files prefixed with adskflex.
The only Flexnet Publisher folder I can find (either visible or not) is in /Library/Application Support, and it does not contain any files named with the prefix mentioned.
The older instructions on resolving this kind of disk migration issue involved renaming the FLEXnet folder before going through the uninstall/reinstall process. Then moving back any files from the renamed folder after completing the install.
I’m trying to find out if this should be the same folder, but it is now in a different location.

Rob,
Flexnet Publisher folder related to AutoCAD licence, so the step #2 is not necessary in your case. Just ignore it.
The alert "‘Folders on your computer the AutoCAD needs access to are not available. AutoCAD cannot run until folder permission issues are resolved” shows that AutoCAD version you are trying to launch is not compatible with macOS installed on your Mac.

Hi,
Thanks. AutoCAD LT 2013 has been running fine on Mojave 10.14.6 for about a year so far. I realize it is listed as not supported, but it works, at least to the extent that I need.
I am pretty sure that Time machine cannot fully restore the authorization files that FLEXnet uses, or that those may need to be updated because the drive ID is different. carbon Copy cloner can successfully copy and restore those files (I think) but that would mean going back several steps in this process and reformatting the new SSD.
As a last option, I could just run off the original drive once it is in a new enclosure, but ideally I would like to get my permanent licence back to operating on the replacement drive.

AutoCAD can function on an unsupported OS, but there may come a moment when a failure occurs - as in your case - and you cannot make it work.
