Properties pallet does not show size of objects?

I'm using AutoCAD for Mac 2022, but this question is probably independent of platform. When I select an object, an 96" x 6" rectangle for example, nowhere in the Properties does it give me that information. What could be a more basic "property" of an object than its length and width, diameter, circumference, etc. There is a field labeled "Length," but that incorrectly gives the perimeter dimension. Since it is not possible to do math expressions in the input boxes (unlike every modern application) it would be helpful to have this property displayed. I'm thinking I must have something turned off by mistake that needs turning on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

MH Brown

Hi @michaelVF8MS ,

The rectangle created with RECTANG command is just regular closed Polyline object which can be created with PLINE command.

That is why it doesn't have Width and Length properties as real rectangle have.

AutoCAD doesn't have such object as "real rectangle".

Hi Michael,

If you need "true rectangle", you can create simple Dynamic block.

I attached example of such block - P_Rectang. See attached drawing.
