Auto Cad LT suddenly running very slow

A few weeks ago, out of nowhere my AutoCAD LT just started running very slow.  Every time I pull a dimension line the rainbow wheel spins for 30 seconds.  Not Good...  It happened instantly one day.  I'm running on a iMac pro which has great processing and a high-performance upgraded video card so I don't think my computer is the issue...  Any ideas on what is going on?  Thx!

Your LT year version is...?
Your MacOS version is...?

Is the problem in ALL files, or just this one?
Is the problem in all command, or just when dimensioning?

AutoCAD LT 2021

MacOS 11.2.3

All Files

Not all commands but any that involve any calculating like Dimensioning

Hi @Anonymous ,

I think you should try to clear all blocks from Recent Blocks tab of Blocks palette: right-click on empty space in that tab and select "Clear all" from context menu.

To stop population of Recent blocks tab with recently inserted blocks set System variable BLOCKMRULIST=0 (zero).

Your previous directions regarding clearing the blocks helped a lot on the files I was work on before but I just opened another file and it's running quite glitchy again.  Pulling dimension lines is not an issue anymore but the curser as I move and select items is rather glitchy and jumping around.  Any suggestions here?  Thx again.  Neiel

Verify if you have SNAP turned ON - F9 key toggles it.

Yeah, I checked that.  The grid snap is not on but it's jumping around similar to as if it was...

Do you have this problem in all drawings? Even in newly created?

It's actually all files.  I opened up a fresh one and I have the same issues...

If you are sure that there is no blocks on Recent tab of Blocks palette and
you don't use external display with low refresh rate, you can try to Reset
AutoCAD.

What happens if I reset AutoCAD?  Will I lose all my settings?  I guess I may have to...

maxim_k
en respuesta a: Anonymous

Yes, you will loose your customization (settings). But AutoCAD creates an
archive with custom settings and it is possible to restore them if
resetting won't help.
