How to extract an area from polyline or block - macos

Dear all,

I am having an issue regarding the extraction of data from drawing. Shapes are defined as polylines, or could be defined as block.

What I want is to export the area of the red shapes.

Extracting through the attribute data (-attext) or similar function did not work.

Similar extraction was successfully obtained from DATAEXTRACTION command which is not the option in the AutoCAD version for MacOS.

With kind regards

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Vedran,

Yes, DATAEXTRACTION command is not available on Mac.

But you can, for example, use FIELDs and AutoCAD table to extract area of hatches:

1/ Create simple table in the drawing and use one of its column to collect information about area of hatches

2/ Activate table cell, use Table Visor to insert FIELD in it - in Insert Field window select Objects -> Object -> pick one of the hatches as object type, adjust Area property format, pick on Choose

3/ Repeat step #2 to extract the hatch areas you need

4/ Now you have table with areas of all hatches

5/ Use TABLEEXPORT command to export the table to CSV file

6/ Open resulting CSV file in Numbers or other spreadsheet application of your choice.
