Hi @jvgerwen-PlantLab,
If you are using AutoCAD for Mac, then you should be able to insert Excel table to your drawing (DATALINK) even if you don't have Excel on your Mac.

Verify that PDF underlay inserted on printable Layer.
About 2-nd question - if you are using AutoCAD for Mac, I'm afraid it is not possible.
