I was reviewing "what's new" features in both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for Mac 2021, and found this little nugget:
- When you open a drawing which contains OLE images, the images are now visible.
I was so excited to see this (finally!), but unfortunately, when I opened up a drawing that had a pasted image (OLE) created in a Windows version, the OLE image was still not visible. Only the rectangle with the text saying "Windows OLE Object" appears (as it has always done before on the Mac).
Has anybody been able to make OLE images visible on the Mac 2021 version?

The "little nugget" about OLE images does not inform about the limitation that exists in AutoCAD for Mac at the moment:
Not all type of OLE images could be visible on Mac. A prerequisite is the need to activate the OLE image object as "Bitmap Image" during insertion, when you use "Paste special" command. If OLE image was inserted into the drawing on Windows side as "Picture (DIB)" or "Metafile", it is not visible on Mac.

Hi Maxim,
You have solved it! How the heck did you even know about this OLE type limitation? I sure couldn't find anything about this by searching the Autodesk website. I was about to reach out to Autodesk support, but I thought I'd give the forum a try first--so glad I did! (I'm sure Autodesk is as well!)
What's a little unfortunate is that in Windows AutoCAD, the default paste (without choosing "Paste Special") is the "DIB" format (which somewhat ironically stands for "Device Independent Bitmap"). So we are at the mercy of Windows based users to willfully "Paste Special" to place as a "Bitmap Image" in order to maintain a common viewing/plotting experience between Mac and Windows.
While I prefer to work on a Mac, I happen to work in a cross-platform shop, so we have the Windows version as well. I was able to open a drawing (with AutoCAD LT 2020 in this case) and right-click on the OLE object to open the context menu that gave me the option to "Convert" the DIB to a Bitmap Image. Once I did this, I opened the file on my Mac, and the image was now visible. At least there is a way to go back and correct the problem without having to track down the original image file and re-paste as special. A little annoying, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I attached a couple of screen shots to show the OLE menu options for others out there.

I figured it out empirically, quite a long time ago. ;=)

Yes, this is correct workaround, I also aware of it.

Hi guys.
So good the solution here. But in my case, I received a file from the client with images in the title block, and after I did the corrections in the drawing, I now need to export it in PDF.
How can I show those images in the title block if they are Windows OLE objects, and I´m working on a Macbook?

Hi @amandahgmartins ,
If you cannot see OLE images when you open this title block on Mac, you cannot export them to PDF.
One of the solutions is to ask the client to replace the OLE object with the image file attached to DWG with IMAGEATTACH command and send DWG with the image to you again.
Another solution - open this drawing in AutoCAD for Windows and export to PDF.
