Complex Linetype -linetype
Hi,
I am using autocad for mac, I understand that I cannot use MKLTYPE to create a linetype, but cant find a tutorial to create a linetype using -linetype.
I am attempting to create an egress arrow.... something like this ---------->---------->----------> (but solid lines instead of the dash)
can someone assist please? or could they share their line file?
Thank you !
Aaron

Hi Aaron,
You cannot create complex linetype using Create option of -LINETYPE command, instead you need to create .LIN file with linetype definition using plain text editor. After you create it, put it to AutoCAD support files search path and load to drawing:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-FEDCE7EB-4919-43AE-A54E-F3A293DD60CA
In your case the contents of .LIN file could look something like this:
*Arrow dash,----- > -----
A,2.5,-.2,[">",STANDARD,S=.5,U=0.0,X=0.0,Y=-.25],-.5
I attached ready made LIN file.
