The product license is no longer avaliable - AutoCAD For Mac 2019

Not a MAC users and trying to assist someone and yes this should be an Installation and Licensing forum posting..   However when you support that forum (I&L) its kind of hard to answer your own question..  Emoticono riéndose a carcajadas

Anyhow..  A end user has been using the 2019 version of AutoCAD on the Mac for a few months now.   The other day when they launch the product they see this https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/The-pr...

We walked through the file/folder deletion steps as indicated in the article.  When they start up AutoCAD, they select serial # and etc and guess what the message appears again.   What am I missing?   Thoughts?

Hi Mark,

If you absolutely sure that "end user" license still alive and you perform all steps from AKN article you mention, for the moment I cannot suggest anything else then to try to use different than usual Internet connection on Mac machine with AutoCAD.
You may also need to check firewall settings (if any) on problem Mac.

@maxim_k

Thanks for the reply.

That's the first thing we checked..   Subscription is still good until Aug of this year .    I assumed the user was deleting the files but the login state xml file and that web service folder was no-where to be found on the user's machine.   Not sure if that will make a difference but that's the only file we couldn't delete.

Another try:
- Clean uninstall AutoCAD:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...
- create new user account on Mac (macOS System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Add User Account) with admin privileges
- login to this new account and install AutoCAD from it
- activate AutoCAD from this new account using "Enter serial number" option, test how it works

Note: login state xml is created by AdSSO-v2 process which is the single sign on process for Autodesk products, based on the name and location. It contains information about logging in to Autodesk account.

@kees.sengers Contact EDU support for guidance.

Thanks for the suggestion, but EDU support is a very slow responder. I will try to follow Maxim's suggestion and try to create a new educational account, if my teacher will allow it and help me with it.

I removed all Autodesk products and files from my Mac except a little piece of software in the directory utility (see attachment) which I could not remove. I understand these files are protected and I am new to Mac, so I don't know yet how to remove it, but I believe I should have. Ran Nektony App Cleaner and Uninstaller but that didn't do the trick. Newly installed Autocad 2022 shut down again due to  "license that expired".

Should I remove only the "_adsklic" or the "_launchserviced" as well .

Or skip all this and do a clean reinstall ?

Hi @kees.sengers ,

Are you signed in to an Autodesk account with an AutoCAD 2019 for Mac license?

You can check this by looking at the top right corner of AutoCAD window.

You can check your license here:

https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/all

Have you installed AutoCAD for Mac 2019.2.1 hotfix?

Hello Maxim,

I have installed both Autocad 2022 and Fusion 360 on my education license that started sept 2021 and will last till sept 2022.
Autocad 2022 tells me that the license is expired and shuts down, Fusion doesn’t do anything of the kind.

But I have noticed that in the directory utility there is something that has to do with autodesk, and maybe the second on the list as well.

I have been told that these are not files but routines, but I don’y know how to end these routines.

Hi Cornelis,

@kees.sengers

Try to Clean Uninstall AutoCAD, then install it again.

When AutoCAD will launch for the first time, don't migrate settings from previous version if AutoCAD asks to do this, login with your student account credentials when AutoCAD ask to do so.

Hello Maxim,

Your link sends me to uninstall procedures for AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD 2013 until 2018.

Mine is 2022. I can't find a link to the clean uninstall for that version. Any ideas ?

 ,

You can use these institutions for 2022 version too. Simply skip steps if you cannot find files mentioned in that article.

Hi Maxim,

I have done a you said and got rid of all Autodesk files, except the two routines or files in. the utility directory. I didn't know how to get rid of them.

I downloaded and reinstalled Autocad 2022 and Fusion 360 and after a day or so, the same thing happened. License expired followed by  shutdown.

If I do a clean uninstall of my Mac and reinstall Montery, do I get rid of these annoying routines ?

Hi Cornelis,

Not sure what you mean by "two routines or files in the utility directory"...

>>>>>a day or so, the same thing happened. License expired followed by  shutdown.

I think this is because license service cannot connect to license server for some reason.

Do you use VPN or Proxy server?

>>>>If I do a clean uninstall of my Mac and reinstall Montery, do I get rid of these annoying routines ?

Not sure if this will help if the Internet connection will be the same as now.

What if you turn off Internet connection (turn off Wi-Fi, pull out Ethernet cable)?

Are you able to launch AutoCAD?

Hi Maxim, big THX for your help.

When I cut off Wifi, Autocad opens but immediately comes back with licence expired message

License checkout timed out. scr shot 2022-02-15 at 12.36.36.png

I refer to the fines or routines that appear in the utility directory

keessengers_0-1644925737411.png

especially the adsklic on top and maybe also the launchservicesd

I have and can use a VPN  and maybe I should use that. I am living in Brussels, which country should I use for the VPN ?

No, you shouldn't use VPN.

Do you mean Activity Monitor application?

I think you should try the solution from here:

这个很有可能是第三方清理软件导致的,清理软件将CAD的启动代理服务禁止了,只需要在清理软件中启用com.autodesk.AdskLicensingService这个选项即可。

thanks Li100bin, but as I wrote, Maxim's solution seems to work. No license problems anymore. But thanks anyway.
