SUBTRACT: objects: 1 found, No objects found

Hello. I'm trying to subtract an object from a block object. Here is my process:

SUBTRACT [Enter/return]

"Select solids, surfaces, and regions to subtract from .."

*clicks on object to subract from*

"Select objects: 1 found"

[Enter/return]

"Select objects:
No solids, surfaces, or regions selected."

Here is the LIST command data from the first object/ the one i'm trying to subtract from:

Select objects:
BLOCK REFERENCE Layer: "0"
Space: Model space
Handle = a9ef
Block Name: "FENDER"
at point, X= 0.0000 Y= 0.0000 Z= -2.0000
X scale factor: 0.8000
Y scale factor: 1.0000

Ive attached a video.

"No solids, surfaces, or regions selected" is the key problem here: your selection is not one of those object types, hat includes blocks (a block of a solid is a block object type, it is no longer a solid).

Do you understand what I typed? Let us know if not.

Yes, completely understood. How would I convert this into a manipulative
object?
