It shows that the file is not a valid dwg or dxf file, or the file is write protected, and I can't import it to Sketchup Make 2016 on Mac.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!
Hi Cecilia,
Which AutoCAD version do you have?
What DWG format are you using to save DWG file in AutoCAD?
If you are using AutoCAD 2018 for Mac and save DWG in 2018 DWG format (the default settings), then:
I'm not sure Sketchup Make 2016 supports import 2018 DWG format.
Try to save DWG in AutoCAD with earlier DWG format using SAVEAS command - you can select DWG format from "File Format" dropdown list at the bottom of the Save As window.
