Those are grips: they show up when you select objects, these are points you can click on and drag for example. If you only selected one object but all others show grips, then those are all connected somehow. Can't tell from your picture for sure though: could be a block, a group, or something else altogether.
Post your DWG file if LIST command doesn't tell you more about what you picked.
By The Way, this forum is for a dedicated software called AutoCAd Architecture and not a forum for autocad users in the AEC industry. You don't have that software since it runs in WindowsOS only. The MAC forum is way over there https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac/ct-p/4051
