AutoCAD 2018 doesn't work Offline

Hi everyone,

I've a problem with my 2018 AutoCad.

When my Mac is offline, AutoCad doesn't work or it going very very slowly for every command or movement.

The problem is absolutely of AutoCad, not of my Mac (Air late 2017, i7).

When my Mac is online with wifi, AutoCad works well.

It's a big problem for me because I work everywhere, especially when the wifi is not available.

Can someone help me?

Hi Federico,

Have you tried to turn off Wi-fi completely in macOS System Preferences when you are off-line?2018-03-13_22-40-35.png

Hi!
I’ve tried to turn off wifi of my mac and Autocad doesn’t work.
Is this your question?

Hi @Anonymous,

Please check for updates. I believe I last saw this problem disappear when 10.13.2 was released and I have certainly not seen it in the current 10.13.3

Ok!
There is an upgrade but I was afraid for a loss of data (dwg and other files)
Can you confirm that an upgrade not delete any files?
Thanks a lot!!

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't work for Apple so I can't guarantee anything but I have never had data loss occur when doing an incremental upgrade.  Occasionally upgrades can cause folder permissions to get  a little messed up but a quick uninstall and reinstall of AutoCAD can remedy that.

Of course I would recommend that you perform a backup frequently. I use the built-in Time Machine and it seems to work great. Worst case if you don't have an external drive to backup to, at least make copies of your files on a cloud-storage such as iCloud, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, GoogleDrive, etc.

As scary as all that sounds, I don't anticipate that you will have any issues at all. I have upgraded three of my personal machines without any issue at all.

Yes yes I know, my question was only for “info”.
On my mac I’ve only some dwg files and other light files (I’ve saved them on an external storage) and few programs like Ps, Ai and Rhinoceros.
I’ll let you know after the upgrade (few minutes)
Thanks a lot!

Hi @Anonymous,

I am getting worried that I haven't heard back from you. Did the OS upgrade work properly? Did it fix the performance issue when not connected to the Internet?

Yes, sorry!
I’ve a problem with the reply yesterday.
Yes! With the upgrade to new OS version, Autocad seems works well also offline!
Thanks a lot!
