Reorienting model to face true north

I have generated a site map (2D) that is not oriented to the correct cardinal direction and I need to change this orientation - either by changing true north on my cube or rotating the entire site map I assume.

I appreciate your thoughts

P.S I am using AutoCad for Mac 2018

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Shyla,

Probably both solutions are suitable.

It all depends on what you are going to do next with this drawing.

I am looking for direction on either option.

You can use ROTATE command with "Reference" option to rotate everything in your drawing to desired direction.

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD for Mac forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Did Maxim's suggestions get the map oriented properly in your project? If you need additional assistance with this is is possible to add your drawing to a post and I am happy to take a look for you.

Maxim,

Thank you again for your solution to my original problem.  In correcting this successfully I realized I have another problem. My apologies if this is a rudimentary concept (am very new at autocad and drafting), but I am trying to orient my site to face the cardial directions generated from my compass, who creates North as 0 degrees and East at 90 degrees.  However, on my model north is oriented to the Cartesian X,Y plane, making North 90 degrees and East 0 degrees.

How can I  solve this discrepancy?

Thanks again,

SMyrick

SMyrick,

You can change the direction of the zero angle with menu Format -> Units...

Set it to North.
