Hi I use AutoCAD lt to convert PDF floor plans into DXF files which I can import into IESVE which is an energy modelling software. However, although I did this successfully on the first few occasions I am now unable to get the PDF to convert so only have the page frame or any lines I traced on the plan saving as a dxf.
what am I doing wrong?

Hi Mark,
>>>although I did this successfully on the first few occasions I am now unable to get the PDF to convert
Are you trying to convert now the same PDF which gave you good results earlier?
AutoCAD can convert to vector objects only vector data from PDF files, if PDF contain raster image, it will not be converted.

If PDF was created in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Archibald, Vectorworks, Inkscape Affinity Designer or similar vector based editor, then AutoCAD can convert such PDF to DXF.

Hi @Anonymous,
Did @maxim_k's explanation help you get the bottom of this?
If you feel like the PDFs you're trying to import were generated by a vector-based program, but the data isn't importing properly, feel free attach one here and we can analyze it.

Hi
Thank you for your responses.
I understand that AutoCAD does not convert PDF's to DXF unless the PDF was generated in autocad.

This is not correct.
There are a lot applications which can produce PDFs with vector data - Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Vectorworks, Affinity Designer, etc. And even MS Word. AutoCAD can import such PDFs.
