Hi @Anonymous,
Why don't you sign up for the Mac Beta of 2018 AutoCAD? This would let you test the product to see how well it works and you could also install a trial version of AutoCAD for Mac 2017 at the same time.
I run the Mac versions on my Macbook Pro and really enjoy how well they function. When I need to convert a 2018 file, I switch to my Bootcamp partition and run Trueview or AutoCAD 2018 to save in the older format. Trueview is free and might be a good workaround for now.. None of this is seamless as updated AEC and other proxy objects don't always save down to older versions very nicely.
