Anyone having trouble with mtext?

I am having trouble with mtext. My AutoCAD crashed, then the mtext I was working on before the crash is no longer editable, nor am I able to delete it. Help!

Hi @Anonymous

Try to Explode the MText,

If it's in block the block will be exploded and turns in to MText you can edit it

If it's MText still it'll be exploded and turns in to Normal Text you can edit it :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Pam,

Please specify your AutoCAD version and macOS version you have on your Mac.

Does the issue happens with all of your drawings? Even with newly created?
If no, then can you attach your specific drawing where you cannot edit Mtext?

Maxim

AutoCAD LT 17, and macOS Sierra 10.12.6

This just started happening within the last week.

It also won't let me delete the text.

And yes, I've rebooted my machine.

REally frustrated with my AutoCAD right now...

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your reply. Could you try resetting AutoCAD LT for Mac? This should set things back to default and often fixes issues like the ones you're describing.

To Reset AutoCAD LT for Mac 2017:

  • Click the AutoCAD LT 2017 menu in the upper left.
  • Choose Reset AutoCAD from the menu list.
  • When the dialog box pops up, choose Reset AutoCAD, and the program will reset for you.

Relaunch the software and test again. If the issue persists after you reset, could you post a sample file where the issue is happening, so we can take a look?

This worked. I had to suffer through a deadline before I could, but it's working like a charm now.

I reset Autocad to the defaults. Took care of all the issues I was having.
