Batch publish to PDF problems

I recently batch published a set of Page Layouts and there were no problems - the page layouts printed perfectly onto my A3 page.

However, after attempting this for a second time a week or so later, it appeared that the margins had shifted to the right, subsequently cutting of the RHS of my page layouts!

After realising this issue I manually created a PDF from each page layout and combined them in Adobe Acrobat however with 20-30 sheets this can become very time consuming!!

Both times I batch published, my pages were already set up in Page Setup Manager and both times the same type of printer option was used (the printer used at my university).

Does anyone know how this issue can be resolved?

The only thing that I could think may have altered the margins is that the file is a communal file on dropbox used by multiple people who use both Macs and PCs.

Any advice or tips would be amazing!!

Hi Molly,

I think that your assumption may be correct. Someone could change page setup (maybe that was paper size) and now PDF output is incorrect on your side.

Just as a note, I too have experienced the same problem using AutoCAD for Mac 2017.

I have a few drawings, each with a number of 'B Size 11"x17"' drawings. I can batch publish them to the printer using the embedded page setup for each layout, and they will print out perfectly. However, if I batch publish to PDF the image is rendered a quarter inch (a little over 6mm) to the right on the page which results in that much being cropped from the right of the drawing.

If I go to each individual layout, open the print dialog, and either select the Print Preview button, or select 'Open PDF in Preview', or 'Save as PDF...', or 'Save as Adobe PDF' from the PDF drop down menu, the layout is rendered perfectly fine in the PDF.

As was mentioned, kind of a pain when, as a result, one then needs to PDF twenty pages individually.

If there are any ideas for me to try to correct this, I'll give it a try.

Regards,

Mack

Hi Mack,

Have you tried to create custom paper size with zero margins and use it in page setup for Batch publish?

Yes, it appears that a custom sheet size of the same dimensions as before but without a non-printable area appears to be batch published to PDF correctly (without that shifting).

Thanks,
