opening a drawing directly

I have noticed recently on Autocad 2017 (both on my imac and on my macbook pro and both running el Capitain) that if I double click on a file Cad opens a blank drawing (drawing 1) and nothing else. I then have to go back and re-doubleclick to get it to open my drawing...

Any clues?

Also autodesk 360 drive refuses to save a file called 01_template, it saves it locally and a couple of seconds later it vanishes.... Is it because the word template is in the drawing name?

with thanks...

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Francesca,

The case with opening DWG file by double clicking on it is known issue. The workaround is to enable Welcome screen in AutoCAD at startup. With this option enabled everything works as it should.

Not sure about your second question, I have to test this myself on my side.

To best address this question and if it still exists would be to provide some sample files.
