French accent AutoCac LT for Mac 2016-2017

First, excuse my english, i'm not bilingual.

We worked on 2016 english version and we wrote our text in french, which means that we use accents. We never had problems with that before. I installed the 2017 version yesterday and the new version doesn't recognize accents in a previous drawings made with the 2016 version, but it recognize accents if I write a new text. So, I reinstalled the 2016 version and now the two versions (2016 & 2017) don't recognized accents in a previous drawing. What is the problem? What can I do to solve the problem? Thank you.

Hi,

Your English is very clear. :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:
Have you changed something in MacOS settings related to the language after files were saved in 2016 version previously?

No, I change nothing related to the language. If I remember correctly, the first file that I opened yesterday with the 2017 version seems to be correct with the accents. But this morning, the same file has a problem, like every others that I opened after.

Which macOS do you have on your Mac?
Sierra got an update recently. Have you installed it yesterday or today?

MacOS Sierra, version 10.12.2, the latest update.

It's really a problem, because a have to retype the text to be sure that it's OK.

I continue to search a solution to this problem, but at this time, I found nothing.

Hello,

I'm french and I have the problem : the accents were ok in AutoCad LT for Mac 2016 and now, all the letters with accents are bad with the 2017 version !

Any new idea ?

Thanks

Hi,

I have read the previous conversation about your problem here:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-francais/problemes-d-accent-autocad-lt-for-mac-2017/td-p/68495...

using Google translate.

So I want to ask you to attach one of your drawings here in order to look into it closer.
Can you attach DWG which shows the problem?

Hi,

Here is a file.

I made 2 screenshots : before and after saving with 2017 version.

Thanks for your help !

As I understand, you created tis file in 2016 version and now you opened it in 2017 and get corrupted accents. Am I correct?
If yes, can you also attach initial file with correct accents (saved in 2016 version)?

I opened, save and reopened your file with 2016 : accents are still good.

I opened, save and reopened your file with 2017 : accents were good when I opened the first time but after saving, they are bad !

I opened Dessin1-after 2016 opening.dwg on my system in 2017, saved it, than reopened again - accents are correct.
I have English language enabled in AutoCAD 2017 and English System language in macOS.
I tried to switch to French language in AutoCAD while leaving OS system language English - everything is still OK with accents in the drawing.
Have not tried to switch to French OS System language though.

Hello,

I still have the problem with 2017, so I stay with 2016 version for now !

Any new idea?

The issue seems to happen for DWG 2004 and older format. Can you use DWG 2007 or later format?

Thanks,
Wei

Hi Wei,

Looks like you are correct.
If I save file in 2004 format DWG and open it again in 2017 AutoCAD the accents get corrupted.

Hello,

Alright, it looks like you have found the answer!

But, bad for me, I need to work with 2000 format because my colleague still has an old Autocad version...

Still, thank you for your time !
