Hi Ryan,

In order to change space you can use MS (to change to Model space inside viewport) and PS (to change to Paper space) commands.
Or you can double click inside viewport to go to Model and double click outside model space viewport to change to layout.
In 2016 version there is also the special button on Status bar which can toggle Model / Paper.
