Thank you for the response. I have submitted a feature request through the send feedback option. 

 

I am aware of numerous programs which can convert PDF to DWG, however my desire is to simply created accurately scaled markups on existing PDF documents without the degradation inherent in rasterization upon output. It seems to me that the PDF could be be passed through the whole process unmodified, with the AutoCAD line work added on top as a PDF layer when printed.

 

This is exactly what I am doing currently with Illustrator, but takes more time than is necessary due to the need for manual registration. Perhaps its easier to use a dimensioning/scaling plugin for illustrator and do away with AutoCAD all together...
