Installing update 2 for AutoCAD LT 2016 for Mac crashes all our workstations when attempting to print. Is this a known issue?

Hi Leon,

Could you please send out the crash reports when AutoCAD crashes? Please give me some crash ID so that i can identify the crashes reports from you and do further analysis. After you send out the crash reports, a browser window will show up and returning message including the ID in format like CER_xxxxxxx.

And do you confirm that the crashes happens after installing the Update 2, and works fine before Update 2?

And is the crash 100% happening when you print, or is it a random crash? Do you already see any way to avoid the crash?

Thanks,
Wei

Hi Wei-
Once everyone in our office experienced the crash, in order to maintain productivity, we downgraded to update 1 by reinstalling AutoCAD. We have since not used update 2 as it cost us many hours of lost time reinstalling and reinstating preferences, etc.

1. Here is the error report identification from June 7th:
Thank you for sending your error report CER_131551320 to Autodesk.

2. I can confirm that this error is only associated with update 2.

3. I can only confirm that attempting to print in any way, on any printer, from any computer hosting AutoCAD in our office caused the program (not the computer) to crash. Even if the choice was to open the drawing in Preview rather than print directly from AutoCAD, the program crashed. Several different drawing and files caused the same problem. This was enough to make me immediately reinstall the program. Thus I had no opportunity to find out what other ways it might cause a crash. The printers concerned are connected through the LAN and are: Epson SC-T5000 and WF 7010. We have used them for years with the program with no problems.

Thank you for your help.

PS: I have one more question. Why hasn’t AutoCAD LT 2017 for MAC been offered as a part of our subscription?

Hi,

AutoCAD LT 2017 is not yet released. Should be released this fall (as usual).

Hi Leon,

Thanks for the infomation. We have been able to identify the issue and are working on a fix. The issue is related with plotstamp. If you turn off the plotstamp, the print should working fine.

We will try to deliver a fix asap.

Regarding your question about AutoCAD for Mac 2017, please note that AutoCAD for Mac does not release at same time as AutoCAD for Windows. You will see it in the subscription portal when it is released. Usually AutoCAD for Mac release after the new Mac OS X(macOS this year) release.

Thanks,
Wei
