The vertical drawing was never scaled. Just look at the horizontal one; it's scale is 1/2" = 1'-0". The wall lineweights should be .20 and the bathroom fixtures should be .10. I have not touched the LWEIGHT setting. I've only set lineweights in LAYERS and PLOT STYLE TABLES. Could the LWEIGHT setting be over-riding the plot style? I haven't explored that yet. How would I go about doing that? Would I have to set each layer as current in turn and then check the LWEIGHT setting? It should be set to "By Layer".
Perhaps I don't know the ins & outs of Plot Styles. I haven't used AutoCAD in 8 years and am just returning to it and am quite "rusty". I'm basing things on how things were done in the past. I can't find a good explanation of using PLOT STYLE TABLES vs Objects; the PLOT STYLE TABLES command is not even listed in the Command Quick Reference on the main HELP page!
