Measure Command

When I measure something out on AutoCad 2015 for Mac, the measurements appear with labels on them. For example, instead of just saying 3", the label is d27=3". How can I fix this?

That is not a "measurement" per se....

That looks like a parametric dimension.

What command are you launching to get yours?

I'm using the linear command DIMCONSTRAINT (I started learning this program about 2 days ago, so bear with me here).

No problem. I think I used the wrong term myself...

A DIMCONSTRAINT creates sort of a lock on the entity you dimension to maintain the size in the dimension.

Are you trying to place a visible dimension or do you just want to measure something and see the result at the command line?

What are you using as a learning tool? That's not dimensioning alone that you are creating, you are asking the program do do things with it and the object you dimensioned as well.

I'm trying to have a measurement show up. I've done the same thing on PCs in the facility and it's worked just fine. I appreciate the help!

Hi @Anonymous

I think the case of the troubles you have with dimensioning (measurement as you call it) is ithat you are using wrong button on the Tool Sets palette. I think you are trying to use this one:

From "Drafting" Tool Set, but you need to use this one:

from "Annotation" Tool Set in order to get dimension (measurement) you need.

Great! Again, I really appreciate the help. The next problem is that I don't have that option in my toolbar and I can't seem to find it. How can I turn annotation tools on?

You need to use an arrow at the top of the Tool Sets palette to switch Tool sets:
