Hi Max,
I have exactly the same machine, but I have Yosemite on it, and when I launch AutoCAD graphics card automatically switches to NVIDIA even if Intel Iris is enabled as default card. I think under El Capitan it should behave the same way.
You also can check in OS X System Preferences -> Energy Saver pane: in order to force using of High-performance graphics uncheck "Automatic graphics swimming" option.
