Upgraded to El Capitan, now I cannot live paint postscript from AutoCAD

When I upgraded to El Capitan I can no longer live pant the postscripts from AutoCAD in Illustrator.

I am creating line work in AutoCAD and using a pdf writer to print to a postscript file. The file is then imported into Illustrator and painted, etc.

Previous to El Capitan the PS file was paintable, you could paint each field and the line work was editable. Now with El Capitan the postscript in Illustrator is as if you imported a static image and not paintable or editable. I have tried updating PDF_writer to no avail,  and adobe PDF writer is "no longer supported in the whatever OSX environment." The same thing happened on my macbook pro when I upgraded to El Capitan.

I am running a 16gig late 2013 iMac, on El CApitan, Using AutoCAD 2016 LT (the problem happened with 2015 as well.)

Any help????
