Hi,

 

It is a knowing bug in AutoCAD for Mac 2016, so we have to wait until the developers will correct this error.
If you are using full AutoCAD version you can try to use AutoLISP routine to accomplish the task.

Something like this one:

 

(defun C:LAYCUR ( / cur_l ss_1)
(setq cur_l (getvar "clayer"))
(setq ss_1 (ssget))
(command "_CHANGE" ss_1 "" "_P" "_LA" cur_l "")
(princ)
)
