When I'm working in 2D around a plan, sometimes I want to quickly rotate the view 90 degrees - in the same way that you can do with simple image viewing programs. I normally do this by rotate the UCS around the Z axis 90 degrees and then use the command PLAN and hit enter to orient to the rotated UCS. This becomes a real drag when doing it several times a minute (also when I have to adjust the UCS again because the X-Y orientation isnt what I wanted it to be.) What I really need is a rotate view button - one click and your entire view rotates 90 degrees. Click 2 times and it goes 180 degrees, 3 times 270 etc. Am I missing a simple command or is it a script I could put into a custom button or something? Thanks in advance!

You can set system variable UCSFOLLOW=1, than when you will use UCS command to rotate UCS it will cause a change to the plan view of the new UCS in the current viewport -it will be rotated automatically.
Now you only need to write macro for 90 degree UCS rotation.
