Saving Files in Folders

I am using AUTOCAD for MAC 2015 Student Version, OS El Capitan.

Can someone please explain why I am unable to save AutoCad files into folders? I am able to save on the desktop, but if I try and save into a folder it doesn't work. Totally infuriating.

Are there any CAD crawing programme which are not totally riddled with issues????

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Looks like you have permission problems, you need to check the permissions assigned to the Folders you are unable to save files to:

- In Finder select the Folder, use Cmd+I shortcut to open info window, scroll down and look to the permission section:

There should be your user name with Read & Write privilege. If there is no your user name, add it with "+" button below the list and set Privilege to "Read & Write".

Hi Maxim

Thanks for the response, although that doesn't seem to be the problem. I have checked all of my permissions settings on the folders and it doesn't seem to resolve it - I had the exact same problem when using Autocad 2013 a few years ago.

Any other ideas.

Also, it is running incredibly slowly - the mouse speed is really bad compared to all other programs.

Hi Sian,

Have you installed Update 3:

Yes, I have, and it still doesn't seem to be resolved.

It is also still incredibly sluggish. Very frustrating.

Try to create another Admin account on your Mac, login to it and launch AutoCAD.
Can you save DWG to the home folders?

At you trying to save to folders created on your local hard drive or a separate desktop drive.

I've had a issue with G-Drive where by the drive enters sleep and then when it wakes you can not save files to it.

If its an external drive check the power save status, and prevent it from sleeping.
