new blank drawing 'starting from scratch' no preset layers etc?

Hi everyone,

sorry this has got to be the most basic question possibly ever but here goes..

I am trying to open a 'blank drawing' or 'start from scracth' as i think it is called.  But I cant see how to start a drawing from nothing, no pre set layers etc.

I have gone: file, new drawing.  but then a bunch of templates come up, I can not seem to start a new 'blank' drawing.

This link talks about it but does not indicate how/where to access / start the drawing.

Thanks!

Ps, the purpose for thsi is that I am trying to learn to set up (from scratch) my own drawing, incl layers, colours, linetypes, lineweights, page size, ..and whatever else needs to be set up - so I learn how to do it :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

Hi,

Unfortunately, the on-line help is wrong here, there us no "Create New Drawing Dialog Box" in AutoCAD for Mac.

If you need to Start from Scratch in AutoCAD for Mac, you can use menu File -> New Drawing and select:

- acad.dwt template to create new blank drawing with Imperial units - Starts a new drawing based on the imperial measurement system. The default drawing boundary (the grid limits) is 12 by 9 inches

- or acadiso.dwt template to create new blank drawing with Metric units - Starts a new drawing based on the metric measurement system. The default drawing boundary (the grid limits) is 429 by 297 millimeters.
