hello,
i have just installed AutoCAD for students.
i am trying to open an dwg that someone sent me but i can't see the walls (like in the pic).
how can i change it?
Also , how can i change the look of AutoCAD so that the toolsbar will be up and not on the sides?
Thanks,
Mor

I don't know what wall you are taking about, there are too many lines in the drawing. Can you highlight them in the photo?

"i am trying to open an dwg that someone sent me but i can't see the walls (like in the pic). how can i change it?"
- Check to make sure all layers are on.
- Look through the DWG files you have and look for the one that includes walls. If you find the one with walls, attach it to the .DWG with missing walls by using the XREF command and updating, then refreshing the path.
- Bind your xref to the current drawing to see if the walls show up.
- Last resort, ask the people that provided the DWG for the external refrences.
"Also , how can i change the look of AutoCAD so that the toolsbar will be up and not on the sides?"
- Use the command _CUI
and / or
- Set your Visual Style Controls to 3D Basics.
This drawing contains a large number of annotation ...
Don't worry about it unless you start seeing it often on new DWGs.
