Will diesel macros work in Mac Cad?
Yes - support for DIESEL included in LT for Mac.
You can use $(getvar, varname) function in menu macros, actually standard CUI files that comes with AC LT for Mac use this function a lot.
For example I managed to get work such customization:
- create in CUI editor new command with name $(edtime,$(getvar, date),DDD", "D MON YYYY)
- assign ^C^C_TEXT \\\ $M=$(edtime,$(getvar,date),DDD", "D MON YYYY); macro to this command
- place this command to one of pull-down menus
- now when I open this menu, I see current date, when I select this menu item - AC asks about start point for text, text options and inserts text with current date to the drawing
But I also have to say, that DIESEL support in AC LT for Mac has some limitations:
- you can not use MODEMACRO system variable to modify Status line, as there is no Status line in Mac version of AC - it is a feature
- you can not use USERS1...5 variables to store strings (although you can use USERI1...5 ans USERR1...5 to store integers and reals - it is a feature
- you can not disable menu items in pull-down menus with ~ in DIESEL macros - this is a bug, because for pop-up menus this works (but ordinary user can not customize pop-up menus via CUI command, it is possible only by direct editing of CUI files). From the other hand - you can place "check-mark" symbol in front of menu item with !. like in this example:
$(if,$(getvar,dimaso),!.)Associative Dimensions
Maybe there are some another pitfalls - don't know....
And a few words about CUI command - in Mac version of AutoCAD (both LT and full) it is very "capricious" - sometimes new commands, created by user, gets doubling or even tripling in command list, and if you want to edit existing macro or command name it is really difficult to figure out which of command used in menu or toolsets. So you have to delete "doubled" custom command from menu, delete all commands with doubling names from command list and start over again.
