2014 Lt version problems on macbook pro with Yosemite

Hello.

I am experiencing serious problems with AutoCad LT 2014 on my macbook Pro (Yosemite).

1. If i click on a DWG file to activate the software nothing happens.

2. Once the software is open, I can open a DWG file, but if i then try to open an additional file the whole software crashes and closes down.  This pretty much means that the software is unusable.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil,

Have you installed all Updates for AutoCAD LT 2014? The latest Updates (SP 2 and SP 3) resolves issues with comparability of AutoCAD LT 2014 for Mac and Yosemite.

Sorry for late reply.

I have installed all updates.  I think i have managed to get round the problem by Uninstalling AutoCAD 360.

Hopefully this has worked.  Otherwise i'll ask for further help.

Hello again.

Sadly my getting rid of AutoCAD 360 has not solved the problem.

Basically, if i am in a DWG and want to open another one, the new drawing opens but then immediately crashes the software and the whole of AutoCad closes.

The software is fully up to date.

It is a problem with the hardware?  It's a very new laptop bought in early 2014.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Sorry, Hello again

i have AutoCAD 2015 but havent installed it as I don't want to go back to a horrible white Paperspace background.

I don't know if you can remember, but you helped me by sending me a file to make my paperspace background black.

If you could do that again for 2015 version I will install the latest software which might help the other problem.

Would that be a good idea?

Hi Neil,
It seems to me that the AutoLISP routine you mentioned should work in 2015 version too.

Do you mean the routine from this post:
https://macacad.wordpress.com/2012/02/26/uniform-layout-background-in-autocad-for-mac-and-autocad-lt...

Do you have it at hand?

Maxim

For the moment I don't have AutoCAD LT 2015 installed, so if you can wait for a few days, I will try to see what can be done with this.

Hi Neil,
I think I would be able to help you to set paperspace background to black as you want it in AC LT 2015. You just need to send me HKCU plist file after you will install 2015 version on your Mac.

Hi Neil,

Could you try attached plist file (unzip it), quit AutoCAD, copy HKCU.plist to desired place, start AutoCAD, change Layout background color as you need in AutoCAD preferences.

Does it work for you?

Hi.

I tried to replace the existing file with the one you sent and I'm afraid it hasn't worked.

I changed the paperspace colour in Preferences to black and the background remains the default grey colour.

Could you post screenshot of what you get in Layout?

Please quit AutoCAD, find HKCU.plist file in the

~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/local/AutoCAD LT 2015 Standalone/R20.0/enu/ folder

and attach it to your post. I want to look at it.

Here is the file you sent. I'll try again

Hi Neil,

I figured out the case - yesterday you sent me HKCU.plist file from AutoCAD LT 2014, but not from AC LT 2015.
And I thought that it was from 2015 version!!!
That is why it doesn't work.

So if you need black background in 2015 version - please send me correct HKCU.plist file (from AC LT 2015)

Maxim
