3D spiral surface milling
Can someone help me create this tool path properly? I want to plunge in the open center of a pipe and continually climb mill spiral out with a .015" step over. I cant seem to figure it out. the tool will not feed in from center and wants to plunge into the material multiple times. Its just a simple end cope for a 4" titanium pipe. the tool

Dave I have a work around for you. I tried several different ways to create the path the way you want it. What I came up with was to change the process to a Z level finish operation rather than a 3d spiral. I would have thought a 3d spiral would have worked great for this pat too but for some reason it wanted to plunge several times before it would begin doing the spiral path. Oh the other thing I had to modify was the Z end on the milling tab. I used .340 Hope this helps and sorry I didn't see this sooner.

yes. z level finish continuous toolpath but tool movement is not smooth . I attach image here, some time I get same issue while od stock is not enough I get x and y movement .(not straigt toolpath). I adjust stock also I get same issue. anyone try and tell me . how to improve this ?

yes. this tool path is good .but tool engage (step over ) is same point. any idea to remove this tool marks?
