Please help me ! I am making a pocket, predrilled with a drill of 50 mm diameter, first rough with porcupine miller diameter 40, rest of the material on second rought with solid carbide miller of 16 mm diameter and I have non-cutting moves with feed instead of rapid. How can I make non-cutting moves with rapid ?

Hi @grosucsm,
Thanks for supplying the fm file.
In your fm file, you have created a pocket feature using Spiral with pre-drill operation. When multi-roughing with a pre-drilling operation selected, the second roughing operation or rest roughing operation uses the pre-drill location as its plunge point which is not sensible at all. This is why you are seeing those non-cutting moves from center.
This has been reported to the development team already and it is being considered for possible cause and solution.I have added this forum thread in the same.
As a work around, you can either change the strategy to Vortex but you will lose the ability to set pre-drill location.
Or you can create an independent drilling operation and uncheck pre-drilling from existing pocket feature. Then use the location of independent drilling operation as a plunge point.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You.

Abhishek

I have made the pre-drill operation in a separate operation, but I still have non-cutting moves, the problem is not the non-cutting moves from the plunge point to first cutting area, the problem is the non-cutting moves when the D16 miller moves from an area to another area (rest roughing).

I can not use Vortex because I can not select the plunge point for the D40 miller, the feature is selecting it in a position where I have a groove in the part and breaks the D50 drill.

Ahh! Ok. You have set Minimize retract in strategy page. Uncheck it to resolve the issue.
Thank You

I have unchecked "Minimize tool retract" it look Ok, but now it makes the rapid moves above the part. How can I make them to be at the bottom of the part ?

I have attached the fm file. Let me know how it goes. It will retract only when it will travel from corner to corner.
Thank You.

Hello
Your video is very helpful, thanks.
Anyway, your answers are always very instructive, I appreciate you,
I myself have always not understood why the rapid traverse is not used and works for this reason always with withdrawal of the tool, because this effort is too large.
As a continuation would be interesting in the video to see how you put this into the program?
Do you delete the corners in the complete list of operations and simply insert the toolpath for it?
Or what is the way to the complete result?
If you have time, thank you in advance!
Yours sincerely
Mathias Beyer
Hallo
Mathias Beyer

Hello,
After I did the cutting operations, I have used the toolpath operation, then I have unchecked the operation from the Setup 1 (yellow).
