3 things to get right:

1. position the solid so that the tool is "based" at the origin with the toolaxis along the Z. This means your toolholder will mainly run in "X" (if that makes any sense...sorry, see video maybe?)

2. Two dimensions to get right  :   gage length is the "length" of the holder on the tool holder page, and

3. Offset X : Is the distance from the holder 'face' (where the tool shank goes in), to the centerline of the holder
