Hello to all. I am operating a horizontal mill and I am wanting to write a statement into my XBuild PP so that my tombstone will return to the home position before each index so that I don't have to worry about clearance issues. <Z-INDEX-CLR> is the statement that it looks at to determine the retract distance before indexing, but I want it to output G91 G28 Z0, instead of a Z value. Thanks for the help

Hi @Anonymous,
Then you write this instead, where you have the <Z-INDEX-CLR> statement
{N<SEQ> }G28 G91 Z0<EOB>
Remember you can outcomment a line to do this //

I don't actually have <Z-INDEX-CLR> written in the PP. It is a word format the is understood by the software. I can uncheck the box in the multi axis tab in XBuild that says "don't output z index clearance moves" , but I need a new statement to write into the PP to retract to G28 G91 Z0

Hi @Anonymous,
Can you share a nc file what you get now, and a output as expected?
and your post processor.

What you want can be done but it is a bit more involved, the Post support department can make it happen. To happen only if the tombstone is going to index will require some if and and statements, this is above my pay grade

I figured it out this morning. By placing this string at the very beginning of my segment start and checking the box "don't output z index clearance value" in the multi axis tab.
<IF><INDEX><THEN>
<MOTION>G91 G28 Z0<EOB>
<ENDIF>
Thanks for all of the replies.
