High Feed Mills Optimization

Goodmorning,

we often use high feed mills for roughing operations. In our experience this kind of mills suffer greatly during the transition from air cutting to material cutting, so as long as we do machine closed pockets with ramp-in there are no problems, but when we do sides or open pockets we have to greatly reduce cutting parameters to avoid insert failure. Is there a way to instruct FeatureCam to slow down feed upon material entering, untill the mill is fully on the stock before restoring the programmed feed?

Thank you.

Goodmorning @Anonymous,

You have no option to adjust feed for lead in and out, I miss that function also.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to Autodesk Community!

I agree with @Anonymous. Feed rate for lead-in/out is yet a wish and known to the development team via a feature request incident '2-Axis Milling: ability to control feed rate of Lead ins and Lead outs of a feature'. It is being investigated and considered for a possible resolution.

Thank You.

I'm afraid there isn't any such function as of now.
