-I prefer deactivating "Bi-directional rough" in the strategy tab.
-For the pockets there are more then one way to remove the dead air cutting.
Example: 1. -> rough pass 2 -> like you did, will automatically not cut dead air.
2. -> the way you did in your edit
3. -> set the amount of the total stock for side operations -> milling tab

Thank you for your reply, your video examples on the STL files in use are exactly what I seen and followed. Very nice example.
I am going to post the most recent file I have, Im having troubles forcing a 60 degree x 1/8" chamfer mill feature to cut along a wall. If you can take a look and tell me what you think, thanks in advance.
