FeatureCAM 2013 Database permission.
Hello all,
Yes I know it's an old program..... we use it on a couple of older machines.
We can no longer modify or create new tools in the Tool Crib. The error reads "Error saving crib. 'NPI2' Please check your database permission."
The program is on an older Dell running Windows 7. Nothing was changed that we know of.
Any ideas on how to clear this error?
Thanks,
Jon

UPDATE: We are running Windows 10, The same permission error shows. I am trying to verify that ADMIN mode type things are correct.

Hello @Anonymous,
Welcome to Autodesk Community!
Is the issue happening with local database or network database? when we install FeatureCAM, it installs the local database at the following location: C:\ProgramData\FeatureCAM\FeatureCAM (version)\DATABASEx64
If it is happening with local database, can you please try giving admin rights to the user and check if you can edit the tools?
Thank You.

Abhishek

Hello and thanks for responding.
It is a local tool database.
Unless I am missing something,,, the computer is only set up for full permissions as an admin.
All of our tools are there but none can be edited or create a new tool.
I have not been able to locate it following the path you show. There is no "C:\ProgramData" etc.
Our computer looks like the image I have attached.

I have found the ProgramData folder. It was hidden.
I have selected this folder and checked the permissions. It had not shown full control. I checked it to full control. After a reboot it still shows the same permission error.
Any ideas?

Have you tried to right click on the FeatureCam icon and "Run as Administrator?

Yes we have done that too. It's probably something simple but we can not find it.

Have you tried creating a new tool crib then saving it in a local folder then importing the existing tools into it?

Well then. You earn a gold star for this recommendation.
It "worked" in that I can now edit and create new tools in this new crib.
The odd thing though, upon saving the tool it displays the same error message. BUT, the tool is actually there.
I did a reboot to check on the result and it is the same. The edits work but the error message pops up. Strange? lol
