NC Editor
So...a little dissappointed that the HSMEdit does not ship with Fusion. I would suspect this is because it will not run on OSX...but it would still be extremely usefull for windows users.
Are there plans for a new universal editor/backplotter for Fusion? To be blunt, Brackets sucks a an NC code editor.

I believe the plans are there to replace brackets, but not totally sure when where and what.
Also keep in mind they pay for the HSMWorks Edit, it's a simplified version of CIMCO Edit so with the price of fusion I don't think it's worth it for them. But I might be wrong.

mikewearne wrote:Lets not forget the price of HSMExpress, which comes with HSMEdit.
That a different product and cannot be compared in this case, that is a marketing tool.
I mean the idea is if you try HSMExpress you'll buy HSMWorks eventually.
That's kind of the same as the start up and hobbyist license of Fusion 360. In the long run it should bring in money.
So while I would like to see the HSMEdit make the move to Fusion 360 as well, it would make me question the price of Fusion and HSMWorks.

I can agree with that....except for the fact I do not believe that if HSMEdit was included with Fusion that it would be the 'loss' leader. For all the capabilities that Fusion has, not having a decent NC editor or DNC communicator sucks.
I think what some are doing, if they have Solidworks, is installing HSMExpress just to get HSMEdit. So, essentially it still costs AD a licencse fee for that (if thats how it works)...why not just give it to me in Fusion? My thought was because its windows specific software and they want the entire package to be universal....but I just make random guesses at stuff like this, I don't actually know what I'm talking about ![]()

One point to consider with Fusion is that the Editor needs to function on both PC and MAC platforms.

I don't think this is a reason to not offer HSMEdit to Windows users.

And I consider that programs can't reason (at least for now). Do you really expect that someone would go through the effort of making such a program only to take advantage of you?

A good basic editor for Windows, that handles large files quickly.
